Hello! My name is Thabang. I’m a Johannesburg-based photographer with a background in graphic design.

I discovered my passion for photography in 2014, registered my company in 2015 and quit my full time job to pursue photography full time, in 2016. Best Decision ever. I’ve been mentored by some amazing photographers throughout my career.

Why do I love photography?

I love that I can tell special stories through images that will live on forever. My style is very authentic and emotive. I have shot weddings and events in Zambia, Lesotho and Zimbabwe. I LOVE travelling, I get to see amazing places and meet amazing people.

Weird and wonderful facts about me:

• I don’t have a sweet tooth but I love dark chocolate.

• I landed my first job as a graphic designer on a game show. Yes, it was nerve wrecking.

• I get amused every time I get an email that reads, ‘Dear Mr Thabang...’

• I love dancing.

• I can’t sit still for too long which is why I don’t bother sitting while I’m shooting.

• I have a thing for light. I constantly notice nice light which drives me insane sometimes because I don’t always have my camera on me. If only I could take photos with my eyes…(((sighs)))

• I’m afraid of moths and being infront of any other camera while I’m shooting. Yes I know that these two things have nothing to do with each other. Haha!

• I love God, ALOT.

• I’m also a voice over artist and a qualified personal trainer. I studied exercise science so I’d know my way around the gym, the qualification was an added bonus.
